What a diversity! Pristine corals, caves, pygmy seahorse, manta rays, sharks, huge schools of jacks, batfish and fusiliers, bumphead parrot fish, wobbegongs, ghost pipe larve and and and. This is the center of biodiversity. THE CORAL TRIANGLE.

On the Elysium Trip with Ocean Geographic a few years ago I was so lucky to meet all these special animals, diving through these absolutly crazy reefs and witness its diversity and beauty.

Thats the craziest thing I've ever filmed and seen. A Jellyfish eating two fish. One is not enough. The fish fights until the end, but there is no escape. This was on a blackwater dive in Indonesia and I followed it until the end. That was really breathtaking and thrilling to watch and film.

The dives around Manuk Island - Snake Island are thrilling. Everywhere are banded sea kraits swimming around. I love how the snakes are moving. It looks so elegant. Diving with snakes is so impressive.

A collection of my turtle shots. It's always nice to see a turtle during diving. Especially when they are eating or cleaning and don't care about a videographer filming them. Thanks turtles for that awesome footage. 😉

Blackwater Diving is the most crazy thing you can do. You drive out into the pitch black night with the dingy, jump into the ocean and wait what comes up. And you discover a world, which is just freaky.

On a crossing in the Banda Sea with Dive Damai on a Ocean Geographic Trip, I had the chance to film Blue Whales with my drone. I got an adrenaline rush. Flying a drone and observing Blue Whales is not a everyday thing, as this is the the largest animal ever lived on our planet. How amazing is that.

Ellie Germanov is a Manta Researcher and works for Marine Megafauna Foundation.

Her primary goal is to better understand what implications plastic pollution has on filter-feeding megafauna, such as manta rays, when larger pieces of plastic debris break down into microplastic. Through this project Ellie hopes to raise awareness of the growing large-scale global problem that is plastic marine debris in our ocean, with the aim to influence local, action and policy change.

The Passage is a very special divesite in Raja Ampat. The unique topographie with all its caves and a huge amount of seafans and blackcorals makes it a little bit mystical. The strong current brings in a lot of nutrient and so can drift througt the channel, which I great fun.
